Time Goes By

Seasons change and time goes by, stars make their way across the sky.
Autumn leaves fall from trees, rivers flow down to the seas.
The sun comes up, the sun goes down, the earth keeps spinning round and round.
The moon revolves, goes through its phases, life evolves and goes through changes.

People come and people go, you feel good, then you feel low.
Summer thunder, rain like sheets, cold and wet, but still it beats that
feeling when you’re all alone, no-one to hold you, far from home.
These are the things that keep you going, keep you moving, keep you hoping.

You live, you love, and time goes by,
you ask yourself the reason why.
You live, you love, and you survive,
and it feels good to be alive.

Four winds blow, they whisper they know, sun burns down on melting snow.
Continents are on the move, somewhere to go, something to prove.
The city streets, they start to shake, the earth vibrates, itself awake.
Somewhere out in the dark of night, a star goes nova, into light.

You live, you love, and time goes by,
you ask yourself the reason why.
You live, you love, and you survive,
and it feels good to be alive.
To be alive.
