Suddenly

The day began so clear, the sky so blue,
but then you can never tell what the weather will do,
I'm amazed how quick the clouds appear,
as if from nowhere to say "so there"...
As the sky turns grey, my mood turns blue, I start thinking, maybe you don't care?

And suddenly, so suddenly, a world falls apart, and everything I know disappears...
Suddenly, so suddenly, I never thought it could happen so suddenly...

It's funny how I thought we'd got it made,
well I guess I took it easy, sitting in the shade,
then you took me by surprise, you took a rain check,
you never checked back,
my friends ask after you but tell me what can I say,
I'm redundant, you gave me the sack.

And suddenly, so suddenly, a world falls apart, and everything I know disappears...
Suddenly, so suddenly, I never thought it could happen so suddenly...

Never again, will I smell your hair,
feel your warmth next to mine, my dear.
Suddenly you're a thousand miles away,
and suddenly, I realise, it's over.

Yes it's over.
